Admittedly this icon is not my best by a longshot, but this technique can give results far better than this, so I am sharing! This was done using Photoshop CS5, but any version of photoshop will suffice.

Also I didn't double-check for grammar and english mistakes, so expect lots of them.

I've been wanting to do a tutorial on how I color for a while, and today I didn't have much to do, so I thought-- hey, why not! So, here it is. I apologize if it's a bit confusing, I'm terrible at explaining things, but I tried...!

AH, right, this was done using Photoshop CS5. (BUT THESE OPTIONS ARE IN EVERY PHOTOSHOP SO DON'T WORRY ABOUT HAVING A EARLIER VERSION!)



Please note that this is pretty image heavy. Alsoo I didn't double check for grammar mistakes, so you'll probably see tons of English errors. Sorry!
